Honda 919 GP Shift Setup

Just read this on the project919 site. I really like. I actually learned to ride as a kid in a dirt bike that was geared up this way. Def gonna give it a try this weekend, such a better shifting motion.

OK, lets here y'alls 0.02.

Mine has been set for GP shift since last year I think. I'll never go back.

GP Shift Conversion on a 919
just pay attention to the setup...mark the original position in case you want to switch back (you won't)

when first making the changeover, pay attention to the positioning of the lever on the spindle, if rotated too far...the shifter can snap up and whack you in the shin during an upshift...don't freak, it will push back down so you can ride home and make the minor adjustment required

Made the GP switch Friday night and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner. It's such a more natural foot motion when shifting to higher gears. Downshifting feels better also. Do have to be careful not to go the wrong way tho - did that once already.

Wild how something so easy to do makes such a huge difference.

It's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart.

Solves the uncomfortable problem of banging your toes on the ground out of left handers, too

Done that the day I bought my 06,along with removing all the reflectors.
Roadbikes just don't work right the other way around. It's unnatural.
All my sport bikes i've had were "Race Pattern"shifters.

I'm not the sharpest knife, but I'm not usually the dullest either I've read the write-up on project919 and see how it's done. I just don't get what it's doing? What are is being accomplished with this change?

GP shifting = 1 up 5 down.

Thanks crazy as hell...it took me a week or longer just to adjust to my new mirrors...I can't imagine reversing the shifting patern, and once you did get used to that - what about riding other bikes? Wild...neat...crazy...
