My 06 had a cable which came in the tool kit, you loop it thru your helmet buckles, and a bar under the seat. What a pain!

I just use a gun lock, and the grab rail. My helmet sits on the seat locked up.

i got a bike lock i keep coiled up on my brake side rear set.

I use it to lock my helmet to my footpeg and my jacket over my seat by running the rubber sleeved cable through the arm of the jacket, then thru the shield on the helmet, then thru the hole in the stock rear set near the brake line.

Seems to work out pretty well, but its not very efficient time-wise.

Just move to Tennessee, our group always just hangs our helmets on the throttle. Ah, twisty roads and no thieves.

It took me almost 2 months to find where the helmet goes! Not even the freakin' dealer could point out the correct spot! For a long time, I'd lock it to my front rotor with my disc lock! Cheezy but it worked.

Not sure if this helps, but I scanned it anyway just in case. Page 53 from my owner's manual. But it's useless without that little cable I almost threw away when I got my bike!

Not sure if you can see it, but you'll get the idea of where to look. Then once you locate the hook, you'll say to yourself (as I did)... "DUH!".

Wow, how could they put something something so utterly ridiculous on an otherwise great bike?

I use a Helmet Guardian...

Bolts on behind the license plate and holds 2 helmets--very convenient.
