Smile Happy Days are here again.

Well, I'm finally out of the big box retail business. There is a bike shop here in Douglasville that I've been doing business with for the last 12 yrs. Two weeks ago the GM called and asked me to come to work for him. Since I had two years experience selling bikes I jumped at the opportunity. Shop is only 10 minutes from my house.

I know, I know, its commonly referred to as a stealership but they're not all bad. The good part is they sell Honda, Suzuki, and Triumph. Suzuki has already introduced a few of their 2008 models for the U.S. one of which is the new B-King. No specs in the brochure but it is "tuned for tremendous low-end torque and exceptional top-end performance"..

Honda has not officially released any information on 2008 models. I may not be the first to know but I'll pass along any info as it becomes available. I'd like to see a new naked from Honda myself.

So please don't think of me as a traitor to the riding ranks because i"m working at a bike shop. When you've got no reason to work why not get paid to hang out at the bike shop?

I'm jealous. I'd still rather work at a "stealership" than do what I'm doing now. Have fun and congrats!

Working at a dealer has certain fringe benefits. Good luck with the new job.

And no, you are not a traitor, you are our inside man.

I'm retired and in good health, but, I'm still having fun. It may be tuff come Jan and Feb, but, that's what my lil machine shop is for, and 4x4, and Bass boat, and classic bicycles, and Trout fishing. No, I'm not going back to work.

Congrats! It's good to have people that care enough to make trips to the stealership not evil. I wish I loved what I do.

My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all.

All right, someone else old enough to know who Arlo Guthrie is...how about, "Coming into Los Angeles, bringing in a couple of keys, don't touch my bag if you please, Mr. Custom's man." Nothing at all to do with this thread, just always liked that song.

I can't wait to be retired, if fate treats me well I might be able to do it in another ten years and still be young enough to enjoy it!

One of my mechanics just left to go work at a Honda dealership. Wished him the best of luck, he rides a CBR900RR and is in heaven now. Plus if I ever run into a repair that's over my head, he can help me out. Guess somehow working on bikes all day is more satisfying than wrenching on taxis, go figure!

Anyway, congrats on the new job and enjoy!
