Great Forum!

Hi Guys, just registered with this forum as it seems to be a great information resource for motorcyclists. Been riding a Virago for 10yrs before just purchasing a '06 919. Gotta say, these bikes are great not to mention lots of fun to ride. Looking forward to hanging around here for now on. Thanks!

The quota for 919 owners is full. Go get yourself an RC and you'll be accepted.

Welcome to the loony bin. Seriously, you couldn't have picked a better place to hang around. Welcome again.

Yep, and given the time of year, you're approaching cold.

Welcome to the site Kendall. I had an '83 750 Virago. Cool bike it was. Get a 9er and be finer, no matter what those other guys say.

Good day to you sir!
Sorry.. I mean.. Yeah, G'Day mate!

So... do you mind if I ask what prompted the change from Virago to 9er?

I was looking for a comfortable bike that I would actually enjoy riding! Putting around on the old 750 Virago was OK but the way one sits on that thing, all the weight is on your tailbone, and long trips were painful. The 919 only has 300mi on it so far so I've been taking it easy but I haven't had so much fun on a bike before. What a difference! All my friends, including my wife, all ride crusiers so the only problem I have now is fitting in! Thanks for all the Welcomes!

It will be hard to fit in with the cruisers when they are constantly in your rear view mirrors!

Who cares about fitting in. As long as you enjoy the two wheels you are on, who is anybody to say anything. Group riding is great when there is all sorts of bikes there.

Yeah, welcome to 919 Central...there...I said it!

Well, at least the Naked Bikes section.

Any kind of mechanical advice you might possibly need is right here. All you have to do is ask. Lotsa cool, knowledgeable folk. Psychotherapy is also available.

Now, tell us how much you can afford to spend on mods and we'll proceed to be bad influences on your wallet!!

I figured this would happen!! Haven't got the first payment made yet and mods are coming up already. After 10yrs of the blap-de-de-blap noise of the Cobra exhaust on the Virago, the stock sound of the 919 is somewhat pleasant. But should I take this as a warning that things are gonna change if you guys got anything to do with it???
Anyways, got the Honda flyscreen coming in at the end of the week, just to relieve some wind pressure off the chest, but other then that, haven't thought of anything else at this point.

We'll be happy to help you spend your money, Kendall! Let's see - exhaust, Power Commander, seat, frame sliders, mirrors, low rise bars, fender eliminator, levers, windscreen...the list goes on and on. Where do you want to start?

In all reality though, it's a great bike right off the floor and you are sure to have a perma-grin for many, many miles. I know I do!

Ain't that the truth. There are a few that venture out to the world and rub elbows with the rest of us. My personal view on this is that they are like a hornet's nest. The collective sends out messengers to gather information for the rest of the hive. Those messengers are instructed to blend in with the rest of us until such time as adequate information is collected for assimilation to the rest of the hive in here.

It appears that the Horunts here are more active outside the hive than they were back in the Motorush days.

You have me confused with that RC90 guy.

Actually, I did have a new decal made for the XX in the same script. CBRXXX. A very subtle item to the fact of having nitrous.

Hmmm... Only if I could find a Hornet to purchase? Could be interesting. Maybe one with a bent front rim could be had?

We venture out now and again. The more in the hornuts nest the better. You can't take over the world with just a small group, but a medium size elite group should do.

Hey post up a picture of the OEM screen when you get it. I can't find it on the Honda web site and can't find a picture of it online.

My Bloody Hornet was delivered last night in the rain. When I get off work I go for the first ride. Can't wait!

And for those with an 06. I licked the paint and it does taste like cherries :-)
