Grab Rail Question

This is just a quick question for you guy's who have painted the grab rail. I took mine off and noticed that the gasket on the bottom appears to be stuck on. Is it stuck because it has adhesive on it or just from time and pressure?

Basically, should I try to remove the foam, mask over it, or just paint over it?

I just painted right over it. If your doing a dark color like I did you can even see the paint on the foam.

I'm having mine powdercoated right now, so I removed them. They cost about $3 each so it isn't much of an issue (needed new ones, since I had to cut them off). I'm currently waiting on 7 parts and going a little crazy!!!!!!!!! Hate waiting!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys. I'll be painting the side covers and grab rail with Krylon Flat Black and Krylon Satin Clear today. If I'm not happy with the outcome, I've only wasted $4.00 on paint and I'll just take them to the office and glass blast them back to factory look. If these parts turn out okay, I may paint more. I either like a flashy paint job, or stealth. Since I'm already close to stealth, I thought I'd black out the silver trim pieces.

I like stealth because if I did ever do something questionable on my bike, I would look like every other bike on the road. Maybe I should invest in radar absorbing paint.

or get it fur lined... the fur will absorb the radar and not reflect the beam making you efectively invisible..

Had a coworker in Lemoore that furred his bike. Used a cheetah scheme and even put a tail on it.

That chick was in a completely different league than Keri... I'd let her wield my sparkle wrench any day.
