Goin Low

Seems like my bikes stink has gotten worse with mileage. Now approaching 23k miles. I'm getting tired of my gear reaking of exhaust.

Someone accepted my offer of $150 shipped on some '99 headers that look to be in great shape. these are not the black headers but I think they still fit. seemed like a good price given the current stock on ebay, cheaper = damaged, same price = dirty black probably need re-finishing.

The bike has a hindle can on it. My first choice is to go with something like the scorpion or a Yoshi trs.. To my eye something just round looks sort of out of place, and I think i like the sound carbon gives.
The seller would take $150 for the hindle. grab it or skip it? I hadn't realized how expensive mufflers are.. granted i'm not concerned with it being in perfect shape as long as it doesn't look like garbage, so i'll probably shop around for awhile for used one.
Opinions on steel vs carbon? Is this price a steal and i should just give it a shot?

Is there anything else worth snatching off this thing? the rearsets don't fit our niners do they?

Header should be fine. I have a yoshi oval that I cut the dent off, riveted it back together, and it sounds decent. I have no idea about the rearsets.
Also, I've had quite a few different brands of 900rr headers and they can have goofy/ unique outlets from brand to brand. Nothing you can't get around with simple ingenuity and a welder though!
What kinds of parts are you thinking you might want?

Here's some pics he sent me. He thinks it's not an OEM header, possibly micron?

That looks fancy! I haven't had one with spring retainers; my yosh and TBR are both one-piece headers. I'll do some looking and see what I can find on yours though. Does it have a P/N on it?
