gas light

so it might have got buried in my intial post, but i learned on my way home that my gas light does not illuminate, the bike just died...thankfully i was exiting to a rest stop with gas... any thoughts on what the prob. could be?

Burned out bulb or LED? It could also be the sensor in the tank. I don't think it's going to be super complicated so the fix should be relatively easy.

from the service manual


Turn the ignition switch is ON and make sure the fuel
reserve indicator come ON.

If the fuel reserve indicator does not indicate properly,
check for the following .

Disconnect the fuel reserve sensor 3P connector.
Short the wire harness side connector Red/black and
Green terminals with a jumper wire.
Turn the ignition switch is ON and make sure the fuel
reserve indicator come ON.
If the indicator comes ON, replace the fuel pump
If the indicator still comes ON, check for an open or
short circuit in wire harness.
If the wire harness is OK, replace the combination
