fork swap

question,
are 954 forks the same length as the rc51 forks?

'04 Honda 919, Candy apple red met., 17/44t sprockets,f-16 windscreen,delkevic ss exhaust,Tharbars,givi engine bars, billet alum. led turns w/ running lights,red adj.levers from china, bar end mirrors,grip heaters,adj. foot peg brackets,adj. bar risers,dunlop Q2(that are better than your pp 2ct,lol)bike wired for gps and phone charger

No, I believe they're 1.5" to 2" shorter than RC51 forks. 954 forks and wheel are what I originally bought for my 919 project then sold everything when I learned that the forks were too short.
I've heard of some guys trying the 954 forks, but I'd imagine lowering the front end that much would make the handling pretty sketchy.

thanks,there was i guy on fireblades that did that swap. i was wondering

A couple of inches shorter can be use if you have a custom top triple made that drops the required amount to grip the lower top fork.

Like these 2 samples I nicked off the net ........

that would work great but..... the problem is that middle section which goes into lower triple will dictate the position of the fork. Unfortunately, that area on 954 forks is not tall enough to offer too many options.

954 on the left, 1000rr on the right-shorter ones
