Cool Finally have Renthal Ultra Lows on my 919

After reading countless threads and reviews, I finally decided on a set of ultra lows for my bike. I didn't drill holes, instead used a piece of thick rubber tape at the pod pin areas (I removed the pins with a dremel) the control pods sit still very well, so no worries there.

Less strain on my wrists and a slighter different body position, it took only a 10 minute rip through some twists to kick my own ass when I got back for not buying these sooner!

I have the same grips. Had to trim the right one though, since I have bar end mirrors.

May I ask what clutch and brake levers you have on there?

They look very similar to the ones I just installed, $28/lever on ebay.

Feels wierd to buy chinese levers, I hope theres not a potential death factor involved. Anyone have any experience with these?

All the ebay or Amazon levers seem to be the same. Cheap but work well. The color fades quickly, but aside from that no issues.

Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.

Not sure where the levers came from, they were on it when I bought the bike. They work well though.

They are chinese ebay levers. I use them on my 919 and they do the trick. A little bit of vertical play with the levers, but after complaining the seller just sent me my money back, and said I could keep them. Nice 919 though. I should probably wash mine now that I have seen yours.

lol I have some chinese ebay levers on the way. oh boy. Since this is a renthal thread, and Ive been trying to convince myself to not do this mod.

Can anyone objective speak to if I want to keep the same ergo use renthal mediums vs ultra lows? I dont want to lean any more forward I just want a less ugly bar.

BTW I just received the same mirrors that are on the OP's bike from china. 28 bucks. Pretty Nice! but they are just backups in case I dont like the CRG side mirrors. Stock is going in the trashbin.

the seller told me the mirrors are from an aprillia shiver. *shrugs?*

One thing that worries me is the cables seem a bit tight at the bars. I have no problems going lock to lock, no change in throttle in doing so either, but they are at their max distance I think. I might bring the controls/grips in about 10mm for peace of mind.

I'm assuming you mean vs the stock bar? Mediums are almost identical for rise and pullback, the big difference is that the angle of the bars is less sharp... (which is my favorite part) basically with the stock bars my hands were twisted to the outside and my wrists were kinked inwards vs with the renthals it's a much more neutral feel. I've also run the streetfighters and those are similar as well with just a mildly more aggressive feel.

That's what I was flipping a coin on when researching them, I wanted my wrists to be more straight like you, but since I have arms like a monkey the lows gave me a little bit of forward lean to my torso which I like. I'm glad I picked the ultra over the mediums.

ok I had to say I was really skeptical but I went on what the majority are saying about the ULs. I have to say these things are pretty bad ass. I dont mind the ergo....yet. Hope I wont its a little forward but not aggressive for me. Also killer looking bars. Drilling the holes kinda sucked. But that was the only real pain of the whole install.
