Fall around Lexington

After finally getting settled (somewhat) down here in Lexington, Kin-Tuckie I decided to get out on my 9er and do some old school exploration. Just picking a turn onto a road minutes from my apartment, I found myself immersed in some gorgeous and gently rolling countryside. Now I've seen some beautiful country in my day; snow capped peaks of the Rockies, rolling hills of the Midwest, Arizona desert, even the barren Chilean Andes and surrounding wasteland, but there is something about these hills and backroads of Kentucky. Twisting country roads, Horse Farm hill country, and blankets of colorful trees all under the Golden October sun just seemed to speak to me. Many times widening my eyes and kindling a fire in my soul, this countryside seems newly explored yet comfortably reminiscent of many other rides I've taken.

Even though the drive wasn't a terribly technical trek, (could've been if driving faster) I didn't care. I just cruised around taking in the scenery to my left, right, and in front of me as I made my way through some new sights and experiences. I can't wait to make it a little farther east and into the Appalachians, in fact I just planned a 6 hour trip for a nice upcoming weekend.
Enjoy the pics!

The last pic is of a Civil War fort nearby.

Looks like a beautiful area with some nice history too.

When you get some time take 62 to Maysville. That's a pretty good run. I've got hundreds of them around that area. You're loaded with some nice roads.

Just watch for deer this time of year.

Nice pics, Our tree's are still green here. No coconuts on the palms like in South Florida, but the air temp has dropped into the 60's at night so the colors won't be to far along.
60's temps are soooooo much nicer than upper 90's and above with 90% humidity. Almost time to hang up the mesh and break out the leathers!

I wouldn't take Fla on a bet. 5' above sea level and flat as a table top. Their idea of a curve is an off ramp.

Ky..... i love Ky. Murph took us on a bunch of new asphalt Sun. No Larry BTW. Went to Rough River falls. Good stuff.

Why wait for spring for a KY ride? Lets just watch the weather and as soon as a halfway warm, dry Sat or Sun comes along, lets bolt.

Neither of those handsome dogs in the pic is me,BTW. I got charged by a vicous killer groundhog in the belly of that old mill.

Look at that sexy guy in the red.

That groundhog was HUGE! You almost ran over Chad when that groundhog came out of hiding.

Come on Barton.. The trees change colors in South Florida they go from light green to dark green to brown (during water restriction) or just gone during hurrican season!

I just finished planning a ~6 hour round trip down here and I'm free for 3 of the next 4 weekends. My living room could sleep quite a few, depending on how cozy people want to get. ha
