That certainly doesn't look right. Are your brackets upside-down or on the wrong sides? Hmmmmm....do you know for sure that they're the correct brackets?
Send the picture to National and see what they have to say.

That looks like an F-16 not F-18. Post a pic of the brackets so we can see em.

From what I can see is that You have it all wrong. You need to get a longer bolt for the headlight, first off. Then romove the headlight. Here is a pic of my wifes' F-16. I also recomend the brackets go on the outside to minimize cracking the shield.

hey mcromo, yeah i asked about the map, havent found it yet. do you per chance have a copy??

i have the modified 2 bros map that someone else on the forum uploaded (sorry i cant remember who you are), and it made a big difference, but it is still a hard start every time and doesnt like to run under load under 2500rpms.

The only one that lines up to anything is the one which goes through the headlight. The rear one has a little clip which hooks on the top of the light bracket. Your brackets have to rotate about 90 degrees to the rear. Just take a look at my pics, you should be able to see what I mean.

If you don't have the longer bolts and clips, you can order them from national cycle (Bag #459 I believe). The clips secure the rear of the shield to the light brackets (as Rickard919 said). You may be able to manufacture something suitable for the application.
