Exhaust install

When installing a slip on do you put anything on the pipes where the join like RTV?

I guess you could, but usually it just makes a mess. Is the connection loose/ leaky? I've always had good luck with simple, dry connections. Also, you'd have to make sure it's the high temp stuff if you do try.

Put a few wraps on the silver exhaust tape (any auto parts store) to make it fit a little tighter and then put just a little of the exhaust sealant as well.

I think this a great universal video on how a slip on should be installed.

Note: He doesn't wear safety glasses or gloves. You should wear those things when doing grinding etc.

I had them (as well as the other ones that I have mounted) mounted dry. Te connection bands make a tight seal.
