Exhast for an 06 speed triple

Hey all,
My Dad went out and got a very nice looking 06 Speed Triple. He wants new pipes, and I thought I'd ask around and see what people are having success running on the 05 or 06 trips.

Thanks,

Stephen

Man, that bike in white is just pure eye candy IMO. I say that with all due respect to my lovely '03 Niner which is now bleeding it's guts out into a drip pan after a chilly little lowside Saturday afternoon resulting in a compromised case cover.

I rode one with TOR's and it was great. It kept the stock look but lighted it up a bit, added some power, and it wasn't too loud. Best part is if you have the dealership put it on you won't void your warrenty.

I believe Arrow makes all the TOR's for Triumph. Shhhhhh it's a secret!

Not trying to derail but are the the TRIPS unstable enough to warrant a steering stabilizer?

I personally love the new low exit Arrow featured in Torque magazine. Pure sex!

I like plenty of the undertail cans over the old side pipe.

But these stubby pipes are bad ass.

Whatever goes around comes around... Stubby cans are not new. Case in point; the custom exhaust on my 1977 Rickman.

Anyone ever remove the baffles from a Speed Triple exhaust? I like them, just a little too quiet.

Alright already. I have known for a while my next bike would be a 919. Now the S3 has caught my eyes. Does anyone know how they compare to the 919? I am looking at the used ones (02-04 919 or 01-04 S3) to get the price down around $4-5K. Looking at cycletrader last night, that looked do-able for either. I hope to get something within the next month, why did I have to see the S3 now? GuyWithScars.....couldn't you wait a month to ask your questions?

already pretty naked as is.

Standing in the garage the other night taking inventory I thought to myself... "I think I have every aspect of motorcycling that interests me covered pretty well. Big ugly naked adventure touring? got it. Sexy faired sportbike? got it. Dirtbike fun? got it. Pitbike? got it. Cool, I'm finally satisfied."

then Mike goes and posts the new s3 in all black and even though I know it doesn't fit me physically I get to thinking all over again. Need to turn up my impulse control knob because right now it goes from admiring to wanting to shopping to buying in about 30 seconds.

Shawn, the S3 is great sure enough, but know the S3 had a complete make over a few years ago.

Jetblast...
You know you want it. You rode my Tiger, so you know what a triple feels like...
Now imagine it lighter than my Tiger, Radial brakes, USD forks, bored out motor, single sided swing arm.....

I would not lose any respect for you if you decided you were happy with what you have, but I seem to remember always envying my friend that alway had what he wants.....

Imagine a garage with a Single, two twins and a triple.

nah, I fought through it.

although a new multistrada is always knocking on the door. The S3 felt like I was just a deep inhale from sucking it up my a$$. Too tiny for me, photographs well though.

Let me tell you about my new triple on Sunday. Since I finally have reached another break-in point 600 miles and oil change to synth. I decided to push the engine a little. On the back roads in second gear I "dipped" the throttle slightly and whacked it wide open at around 6000 rpm. The front end came up in a snap and I rode that to about 75 mph. Thats a trick my 919 could never imagine or most other bikes for that matter. You couldn't smack the grin off my face for the next hour with a dead cat. Hooligan is not for everyone, but it seem to be an awesome mix between a twin and inline 4. Has an unever idle but smooths out after 5000k yielding a nice sum of torque. Looking forward to finding out what 7-9000k will feel like...
