Engine Ice?

Anyone have any experience with this stuff? Supposed to get the engine to run cooler. Don't know if it is worth it. I am sure my HP coolant is more than sufficient. Just wondering if there are any experiences out there. I was going to give it a shot in my race/track bike. I didn't really want to mess with it on the 9 because I have a perfect map right now and changing the running temp might throw that off. Any thoughts?

I run Engine Ice in my ZX10R. I was anxious to see if it would lower operating temperature. To tell the truth, I found no discernable difference in the op temp. I have no problems with the colling system. I have 14,000 on my 2004 Kwaker. My oppinion is that it's a wash.

I think your spot on.
But................................
Tell me what happens to the temp on slow running or at a stoplight. Remember that our radiators are kinda dinky.

s10, I would tend to agree with you on that. I thing this stuff was designed for very hard running engines like for racing just to help the coolant system maintain the thermostats set running temp. Since it is $10/qt premixed (read $5/qt water) I will pass on it. Not having trouble now, why bother. We'll just see what my buddy does with it. Thanks all. BTW, wardog, thanks, good link.

That's just it. When the cooland system is overrun such as at a stop light it just helps maintain the previous temp. I think anyway

I flushed out the fiddy-one with this tuff prior to a track day a few years back and noticed no difference in operating temperature. It is however 'legal' to use on track or at least thats what the bottle said when I urchased mine... No big gain or loss that I could tell...

I flushed my bike with Engine Ice at 16k miles. I can tell you that I did see about a 10° drop in running temperatures. For you northern climate guys, keep in mind this product is only good for freeze protection down to -27°F. Other than that I give it

I put it in my RC51 and a week later the master seal blew on the engine and coolant leaked into the engine. Yay. Never would use it again. I don't care what anyone thinks/says.

I can't see how the Engine Ice could cause that.

Well if you don't know for sure it's just as likely that it could have been a coincidence.
