Digi Gear Indicator

Has anybody added one to their motorcycle? It allows you to program your gears so you always know what gear you are in. I saw this for out bikes on this web site. http://www.hondahornet.co.uk/DIGIGEA...ORINSTALL.html I decided to purchase and try it myself because Tim made it sound so easy. I received it in the mail today and from start to finish took about 1 hour. If you don't solder the wires then probably 25 to 30 minutes. It is super easy to install. It is a little flakey on each gear shift but once you are in a gear for a few seconds it displays it on the screen. I took a picture on mine below for your viewing. I took the picture with my front windscreen off. With the screen on it is hardley noticable.

The bottom link in the first post works for me.

Looks good, I wonder why it has such a delayed reaction.

because that IS how it works...it hunts some info up and then calcs the gear each time

you can read up on it in the owners manual (pdf file)

Digi Gear

Mine must be a newer version. It only had 5 wires and the orange being the Speedo wire not the programming wire. Mine has a programming button on the back of the Digi Gear. You can re-program at any time and without grounding any wires.

I'm more interested in what the oil temperature is on the 919 than what gear I'm in, but I don't want some goofy looking wires and indicator making my bike look all liquored up. Does anyone have any experience with that digi oil temp indicator that J&P sells?

My brain tells me what gear I'm in. Hasn't broken yet.
