craigs list gas tank

Ran across this on Dallas craigs list. Claimed new gas tank, $100. Just wanted to throw it out there in case someone had a dented tank and was looking for a replacement:

Thanks Jay. I've been looking for one and hopefully it is still for sale. Anyone can help ship this to Point Roberts WA 98281?

Pay for a rental car (or plane ticket + rental car) from san antonio to dallas, 2 nights hotel, dinner at Uncle Bucks, and I'll send that tank to you on my dime :P

I would offer to pick it up, but Grapevine is about an hour's drive for me, and I gotta lot of stuff going this weekend. Maybe if you paid him upfront via paypal and included enough for him to take it to one of those shipping places that would pack it for him he might bite?

Thanks Jay. I tried asking that but he would rather doesn't want to go through the shipping hassles. He said someone else was coming to look at it Saturday so I assume it is gone. Hopefully it went to a WT member anyway.

Yeah. Probably would've considered it if he had no other interest, but a local already coming to see it sealed the deal against you. Well, keep an eye on ebay. See them come up once in a while there.

Too late for the tank, but there is a Point Roberts, WA store on EBAY with a VFR swingarm complete with shock, drive hub, wheel flange, and pretty much everything else for only $300(!)
98-01 Honda VFR 800 rear single sided swingarm shock:eBay Motors (item 140337648127 end time Dec-01-09 19:28:57 PST)
Worth looking in to. You might be able to pick it up and aviod shipping charges.

Rob

If it has already been done, it is safe to assume it is possible to do it.
On the other hand, if it has not been done never assume it is impossible to do it.

A bit of digging turned up the Ocool build thread. It does look sweet, but don't think I have the skills or machine-shop style budget to get it done. Too bad.

Thanks Rob. I already got a 2008 VFR sitting in the garage so I'll pass on building another one.

Coincidentally I actually know Brad, the owner of ChopShop Cycle. He is the guy listing the VFR swing arm you linked to.
