$1k is quite a bit expecially given it doesn't have any electronics, but i have seen gsxr oil cooled engines and bandit engines go for 1k. before i got the 919 i looked at a 1993 gsxf 1100 engine for 1k.

Not bashing this guy in the least but I bought the tail piece from his bike a couple of weeks ago. He clearly stated that it had slight road rash on one side and that it was a repairable piece, NO other cracks or problems he stated.
The road rash he mentioned was clearly shown in a picture. However there were many other cracks and breaks that were not pictured or mentioned.

He had it listed for 90 bucks buy it now, I offered 45 and he accepted. A little high maybe but I assumed it would be a nice piece to work on for my bike.

When I received it, not only did it have the road rash, but a mounting tab was broken off and missing, a crack in the tail above the light about 1" long, and worst of all it was missing a huge 2"x4" piece from the underside nowhere near the road rash pictured.

I was a little disappointed but decided to forego the hassle of trying to return it or something, and decided to continue with my project. I have already repaired two cracks and made a new mounting tab. Once I really get rolling I'll post up some pics!

Anyway just make sure you get the whole story and request additional pictures if necessary especially on ebay!

I hope you posted appropriate feedback on him.

What is the sellers name for future reference?

To be honest I am an eBay seller as well so I understand feedback is important to buyers and sellers alike. I hate havig to leave negative and will usually resolve anything through messages and leave neutral feedback. That way there is info available for people to research the seller without blowing their feedback rating for something that may be an innocent mistake. This one is still being resolved so I actually haven't left anything yet.
