Thought I would post this up for people considering new bars.
I bought these bars from here: http://www.motospecialties.com/store...20Hyper%20Bars
They were 69.99 shipped. Arrived three days later.
I drilled the control locator holes, pretty easy (though I didn't get them perfect, I suck at working on things).
These bars are perfect if you think the ultra lows are too wide and you don't mine being slightly lower. They look awesome. I ordered the titanium color.
There is interference with the tank, but mine are rotated back/down further than I think they were intended, so you might not have problems if they are installed at a different angle.
WITH STOCK BARS
I only rode with these bars twice before I crashed but I loved every minute with them. I will type more later but I am tired.
Looking at the dimensions the height appears to be the biggest difference.
That is why the Coerce bar will hit the tank. The ultra low is 35 mm wider which equals 17.5 mm per side. Not too significant in the big picture.
Width Height Pullback
Coerce-- 690 mm 30 mm 100 mm
Renthal ultra low-- 725 mm 75 mm 95 mm
I ride with the Coerce bars and like them a lot. You need to roll them forward just a hair if you don't want them to interfere with the tank but I don't think it affects riding position at all. I also got the titanium color, I like it because it matches the triple trees perfectly...but I would have liked to have seen a gold option. Some Renthal lows I saw yesterday on this site in gold looked pretty nice, but who-ha they are what they is.
Obsession is a word the lazy use to define the dedicated.
I picked up some AFAM superbike bars at their office in HB. They only have like 60 pair left so I bought 2. These things rock. I ground the nubs down, not into drilling a bar????can you say SNAP? I also installed a set of Renthal road racing grips, KILLER. If anyone wants photos hit me up. The AFAMs are excellent quality...I had a pair on a zr7 for 4 years...they also absorb vibration. BTW 919s rule!
