chrome wheels

Anybody got a picture of a 919 with chrome wheels?

I bought a used set for my ZX14 and told her after I did it. Now she wants to know why she cannot have a set for her bike. Got the lecture about my wants being confused with needs and so now she wants/needs a set for hers.

Don't ever make the mistake of telling a wife that if she had a job and could pay for something then maybe her wants and needs could blend together and that is when you get "THE LOOK" that only wimmins can give and shut up.

Anyway I am trying to convince her that chrome is not as pretty on red as it is on super dark blue that looks almost black.

hey bobby, you can strip your wheel down with aircraft polish remover and then polish up the rims to get the same effect for a much cheaper price.

In red, it looks much better with the polished lip:

I have already stripped and polished the lips on HER 919 and that was fine with her because I had done it to my bikes and SHE could not live with plain wheels.
Now I am getting a decent set of chromed wheels for the 14 and she wants the same but I think her red bike with the polished lips is better looking than all chrome would be.

I may have to take her to the Kawi dealer and show her a new green ZX14 that has the black spoke and polished lip wheels just to see what a nicely done set looks like. I had planned to have her wheels powdercoated a shiny black inners with the lips left polished which I think would look real good over the dull almost flat black that they are now.

I think I married a HONDA QUEEN that is jealous of the Kawasaki's

I think she married a CLOSET HONDA QUEEN You should sell all those dust collecting Kawasakis and Starbucks Shuttles and get the chrome wheels for the Honda.

Dang I can see there is no pity for the innocent guy..........

I really do think after she sees the 2012 wheels on the green ZX14 that she will say ok to powdercoated centers and polished lips.

Oh and I ride the other bikes ------- sometimes.

The stock almost-flat black is boring, and full chrome will look too gaudy. Your idea of gloss black centers with polished lip should look great!!!!

Just get them powder coated in a silver or alloy look. Some of those tones are pretty bright. A fraction of the cost of chrome and more durable on wheels.

I bought a set of used chromes for my ZX14 which she was not happy about due to lack of consultation with her before the purchase. This was right after the frigerdater went out which we did go order a new one BUT my wheels came in before her fridge so she had her son take the wheels to her moms house (next door) and I don't get to see them until her fridge gets here Saturday.

I am done with her Honda and she can get her wheels powder coated on her own
