The looks don't really grab me, but I can really appreciate all the work that went into it! There's a hell of a lot of plumbing going on there!!

I really like the tank. Awesome work with it, and it is turbo who doesn't love a turbo. But looks like one person did the tank and someone else did the rest.

I personally thing the 919 is perfect for a turbo. I would like to see a more rearward mounted version. that would really cut down on all the pluming and the need to relocate the oil filter.

If you had an extended swinger (which I'm sure would be highly recommended) you could put it just in front of the rear tire. Oh I'm starting to see the plans in my head already!!!

The 919 IS a perfect candidate for a turbo. That guy did a great job. You want the turbo right out front. The closer it is to the head the faster it will spool up. If you're gonna keep it a streetbike, stretching it would ruin it imo.

Stretching it would almost be necessary to keep the front down, wouldn't you think?

How much pressure you gonna run?
To me, keeping the pressure to 4-5psi would mean adding 40hp to an already great bike without having to change engine internals/swingarm to handle the power and still being very streetable would be ideal - a nice balance of cost & power.
The internet is full of videos of over-boosted bikes having to constantly short-shift to keep the front wheel down. What's the point then? You just wasted your money in less completely impractical is what you were going for.
If you're gonna make a drag bike make a drag bike. But use a 12R not a 919.

i found a turbo today that i think would work perfectly.. it is off a isuzu or suzuki 3 cylinder turbo car.. it is a small snail and i mean small that i think probly could make the 3 or 4 lbs of boost my 9er so desperately craves.. i will be consulting older brother (mechanical engineer and hot rodder from wayyy back) and one of the techs at work to see how much this will actually cost me to do... nothing would make me happier than 40 ish extra horses not to mention the sound...

I don't think its going to be audible on a bike like it is a car. I've seen a couple turbo bikes in town and you couldn't tell they were turbo.

gpz... You're right about making a drag bike. I guess I just assumed it would be almost impossible to keep the front of a 9'er down with any turbo on it.

Looking at the rear tire tells me the following:

Bike is used for burnouts and top end runs.

The latter is OK by me.

I'm impressed.

I was thinking the same thing. If it's used at a drag strip great, otherwise who cares how fast your bike is if you can't turn the thing.

how well can the radiator cool the engine when it is mounted horizontal just behind/under the oil pan? I think it looks ugly and uncomfortable, but to each his own.
