chain tension

So I have about 1 1/4 inch slack in my chain. Specs call for 1 3/8. Anyone out there who can share symptoms of an over tightened chain.

Thanks

By rolling to a stop when the chain breaks.

Adjust it correctly and keep it lubed.

If I remember correctly, the owners manual specs a range of 1 3/16 - 1 9/16. 1 3/8 is what's on the chain guard and puts you right in the middle. Don't think you're too tight at 1 1/4 but you're definitely on the tight end of the window.

That being said - adjusted mine this weekend and always try to get it right at 1 3/8.
