if you can't find it second hand; dealer would probably be a sure bet. though they might not even have the colour you're looking for. Here in Canada they don't have any rear cowls earlier than the 2007 red. hence why i got a grey one second hand that i'll have to paint blue.

I bought my 919 used from a dealer 2 months ago, and they replaced the rear cowl, so I'm sure a dealer could get you one, or buy one online:

I'd Check with most any Honda parts place or Honda dealership. A good online resource I always use is Ronayers.com and I use their parts fische to lookup the number and check price, then I pick up the phone and call them to check availability. The are usually on spot for about the best pricing and if they do not have the part they usually have the ability to look up in their network to find availbility. Give it a try, I can't imagine the Hornet is completely phased out yet, considering I was still able to buy one off parts for the NT650 up until about 3 years ago.
