CB1000R

Anyone interested in taking their 1000 to the dirt?

I found the comp that this bike came from. There are thirteen really awesome custom jobs. All using the CB1000R as a base.

I zeroed in on three:
VC Moto Sabadell retro with top half fairing
Mototrofa retro naked AMA style naked superbike
Motos Ortasa AMA style 1/4 fairing superbike

I think I liked the the Mototrofa the best.

Thanks for scrounging up the link!

I found finding a top three hard. So much so I'm including a pair of runner ups.
1. Towca
2. Mototrofa
3. Motos Ortasa
Runners up. Autoferro and Servihonda.
Such a wide variety of impressive customs. There was something I liked about them all and not much I didn't.
Interesting the use of pod air filters on some with apparently no issues.
If Honda offers a cash back deal on the new CB1000R I'm going to find it hard to resist.

A more aggressive ride. Clip ons and more pod air filters, which I think look cool. Also crazy tread pattern on those tires.
Insane amount of work gone into it.

I'm undecided about the paint but I would totally give that a try

I've made my decision on the paint [not for me] but like you would absolutely give it a try.

Are those tyres r-r wets?

Well...the guy that did this to the new CB1000 deserves to be beaten over the head with that hideous exhaust.

Yeah, sharp-looking bike, for sure - but if there was any ACTUAL scrambling involved:

I luv it, twin pipes and all.
I had an XR600 years ago. The Thing was a beast. So many near misses in the bush.

Ha! Snap!

I had the first of the XR500's, a '79 model - twin shocks, 23" front wheel [bad idea, Honda!], probably weighed about the same as the Hornet - an afternoon of forest riding was quite a workout.

Fantastic old thumper mate. I went through several XL's and XR's as a young bloke. Fell in love with Honda bikes then.
