Bucky's tired of the Tinman...

...so he has a new project drag bike

I sure hope this isn't a repost... Saw it and just had to poke fun at one of the smartest (and smart a$$es, but he's still really smart) WT's.

I've seen many cars at the strip that were slower than that over the years.

that footage comes to us from my home track at Alaska Raceway Park too! just look at the crowds of racers and spectators !

that rider shifts almost as fast as i do.

as long as my side business remains quiet this week, I'm putting the Tinman back together and taking it out for one last 'hurrah' this weekend. all i could see with the borescope was a little cylinder wall scoring. 1 cylinder lost 30 psi of compression.

putting a new 16/46 520 race chain on him w/ trimetal rear sprocket too.

oh, i'm gonna spray in a BIG WAY !

it's finally come down to : go big or go home.

i will bump up my aux. fuel pressure, run the nitrous pressure within a hair of bottle explosion, and roast the clutch on some hellacious launches, if all goes well. when watching my last nitrous runs

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...PZxPDrCQ&hl=en

it appears by watching the speedo needle and listening to the engine tone, that when on the bottle, the powerband is very midrange-fat. by the speed at which the speedo needle sweeps, it sounds/looks like the thrust seriously tapers off at the top end in each gear, so i'm going to try lower shift points just for kicks.

put new sprox on last night, coils back on, tank back down. fired up the Tinman for a couple minutes to burn off the oil from wet compression testing. for a sick guy, he sounds pretty good.

looking forward to the most exciting race weekend of the year , and of course going 133again. maybe more ~

no disrespect cycho, but i think i'd go hay bus if/when The Tinman becomes overindulgent living room art. oh. wait. that's right. DISRESPECT!

i've also been thinking of going the light route and finding a used liter bike to stretch. start with 100 fewer pounds, albeit 25 fewer FOOTpounds. maybe this guy's looking to sell his cbr1000...

See man.. I just can't get aboard with the Busa. They look cartoonish, straight outta Japanimation. Anything but the latest gen Busa is inferior. I hear they vibrate like a V-twin and the brakes are a$$. Uncomfortable, etc. I don't know.. I mean I know they have a long standing proven drag race record.... still. The CBR.. sure.. I get why you would consider a liter bike and can't go wrong with Honda. Pretty sure you should go ZX-14 I guess it really doesn't matter what ya choose.. look what ya can do with the 919.

of course, looks are a matter of taste, and there's no accounting for taste. but that Kent Stotz cbr1000 with the c-f rims? sittin' about knee-high off the tarmac? rroowwwrrrrrrr! that thing could make me swear-off kitty.

oh yeah, and the brakes argument isn't important to me. look at my avatar: i'm trying to get less braking on my bike !

The 919 has such fantastic brakes tho.. taking off one rotor and drilling massive holes in the rear probably can't even tell.

Let's just try the "It's a Suzuki" argument then!?
