Broken Shoulder

Went down. HARD. Guy kept looking like he was gonna merge into my lane and took my eyes off the road at the exact wrong time. From shoulder to grass I'm still up but then I see a drainage tube that goes under a driveway and I'm headed straight for it. Get to the left of it and on my way toward getting back on pavement when right at the top of the slop for the drive my rear slips out and slam left shoulder onto pavement. 60' slide. Never even got to see the damage to the bike yet. This was at 2:30pm the 25th of March.
Broken clavicle, scapula, and 2-3 ribs. 9 hours later I'm back at the house getting ready for bed. Go to take a leak and find a couple drops of blood in my urine. Phone call later and I'm back at the hospital. CT on my kidneys show they're fine so probably just minor trauma from initial impact. Bad news? Pneumothorax, or partially collapsed lung. I felt fine, but tonight will be my 3rd night in the hospital. Lame.

DUDE!!!! Glad you are OK, well, at least in one piece anyway! Sorry to hear that, hope you have some help while recovering, and don't worry about the bike, it's all replaceable.

Just don't get any ideas about zombies and such in the rebuild process.

Seriously, though, sorry you went down, but glad you're all right!

Damn Brew, you're not catching any breaks!! Speedy recovery man, glad to hear it wasn't worse. Let us know how it goes with the progress; as for the bike, there's always parts from the hoarders. I mean... collectors

I'm glad to hear you weren't hurt worse...but I know you're hurting pretty bad as-is. Like CuriousMike said, you're gonna need plenty of rest time. it's gonna be a couple months or so...

I'm sure it's gone nuclear by now. Half-life is somewhere in the 200 year range .

The hard part is telling the time. The watch hands keep jumping up and down.

hahah, knew no matter how i tried to type it out to keep it as clean as possible, you'd find a way to drag it through the mud.

remember andrew, if you shake it more than twice, you're playin with it
