Blackout Powdercoating a Uranium Green 919

As with many, blacking out the silver. Got the stock mufflers on there while I get the Erion Cans redone.

I am considering re-doing the footpeg (rearset) brackets in the same color as the engine. I think they would look better that way. I know there are some people out there with stock color ones that match the engine color if anyone wants to trade!

Take a look!

Here is a before pic...

Nuke Green and black is awesome. No boner for me though. At my age it takes more than that.

I need some green rim tape I think. I also have now removed the front end and it is all at the powdercoater!

Latest progress. Should be riding by this weekend!
Take a look at the second pic. I am going to put matching green rim stripe. Need to choose between the 1/4" and 1/8"... What do you guys think?

I put "black" 3M reflective vinyl over the part of my fork tubes that is between the clamps in the triple tree, makes it look so much better!

Love the color combo!!!

I've done the same thing with mine but with plasti dip because I'm poor lol. Looks pretty good and is fairly durable when done correctly. Also did my rearsets with truck bed liner so it wouldn't rub off over time like plasti dip. Only pieces left are those little aluminum airbox cover pieces, the headlight mounts and the chrome trim ring on the headlight. But we had some nice weather so I wanted to get my bike back in one piece asap. The bike itself is satin white paint with gold rims and gold accents, I wish it was matte uranium like yours though...

Are those rearsets gloss black? And are they powdercoated?

I ask because I have a set of new, taken off at the dealer prior to delivery, stock 919 rearsets I took down with the intent of having powdercoated. I might be willing to trade.

They are "Satin" black. Not high gloss, not flat either.

What color are yours? Do they match the engine?

They are absolutely stock, uncoated - but now that I think about it, I don't remember what year they were so they could be the shiny match to the swingarm of my 2002's or they could be the later one from the 05+ bikes. Let me go run over there later tonight and grab them.

You should ride your bike to my house and we can swap them! I am north of Houston. Can you post a couple of pictures or email them to me?

Yes, mine are powdercoated. Very nice. Be aware though they do not have the passenger heal teflon pads or luggage straps, but you could remove them from yours and swap if that is important to you.

Don't need those, I have SWMotech hard bag mounts that replace them anyway.

I will get pictures of what I have a little later today. These are a spare set I was going to powdercoat, not the ones on my bike.

Ya, interested only if they match the engine case color. I had the shiney silver ones that match the other silver like the front forks before powdercoating.

Well, looks like that trade isn't going to happen. The spare set I have appears to be the same color as the swingarm plates.
