Bikes finally here!

Sorry it took soo long to post up pics, but it was a hectic weekend.
I got a call friday mid day that my package had arrived and was awaiting my receipt. I could'nt believe it was actually here. I've been waiting for over 2 weeks for the seller to drop it off to the shipping depot for me and was about ready to give up. My patience had finally payed off. I took off work early and brought a coworker to help load it up. I think my driving may have scared him a bit, but I was too excited to be bothered by it.
Anyways, on with the pics!

Here comes my package!

My hero:

I tore off the locks and opened her up. Closed my eyes and said a prayer and when I opened em up heres what I saw:

I got goose bumps guys. It was absolutely beautiful. The pictures I've been staring at all this time do not do the bike justice.

A cheezy little vid from my camera phone after I hooked up the juice and fired it up:
http://www.fototime.com/388D9B66615E550/conv.wmv

Got her loaded in the truck and it was time to go do some running around:

Took it by my boys shop and had em install my black sato's w/ passenger pegs and some black anodized PM mirrors. Had to get this bad boy ready for the Lonestar Rally.
Met XRCajun up at the Armadillo supermoto races in galveston. He liked it too I think:

Got a chance to drive it down the strand and it was a blast to ride.
Took it down to the intl moto show on sunday and met Mr. Roland Sands.
Told him I had acquired it and he offered me $5K over what I had paid right there on the spot. I told him to let me have some fun with it first and gave him my number. I think he'll pay more after all the time he told me his guys spent on it.

My picture taking skills suck and I have'nt taken anymore yet, but heres a few pics I've come across on the net for those who have'nt seen it yet. I'll get more later:

Everything on the cluster was hooked up and worked perfectly!

thanks for lookin!

Awesome!! I'm jealous! I can imagine when you first saw the container it was in.

Have fun with her. . .BEFORE you sell it back (I'm sure you will) to its creator.

Very nice. Didn't someone here post the For Sale link for that about a month ago?

Why replace it with the Sato's? How does that custom exhaust sound?

If you have ever been on top of a mountain, or in the Prince William Sound in Alaska, or some other beautiful landscape and took a picture and then later showed it to people knowing fullwell that the picture didn't do it justice then you'll know what I'm talking about. When I saw this bike out in the sun light on the trailer my eyes almost bopped out of my head. I would imagine even seeing it inside with lights would not do it justice. This bike is beautiful. What's crazy is it shines and shimmers but yet is very masculine and manly because of the matte army green color. The wheels are unbelievable. I just love that bike!

Man it made me a little sick to my stomach when I read above that Roland offered you $5 grand over. Man I'd hate to see you sell it but $5000 over is a pretty big deal. But I don't know wow such a sweet bike. The one thing I've thought about since I saw it is suppose you or someone dings it. Someone would have to die.

Well enjoy it while you have it and lets go ride!

She looks good. You have a hard choice looming over you head. The only way to settle it is to ride, ride, and ride.

What a great story! Not only do you have that sick bike, but you got to meet Roland Sands. I love his style. Oh, and post some more pics of your Tundra, that thing looks nice! Me like Tundra.

Here is a pic that I got to take of Roland's other famous bike at the Legends of the Motorcycle. For those of you that don't know, this bike has a MotoGP motor from Kenny Roberts, it's the only GP motor that's ever been let go, or so I read:

Thanks for the kind words guys.
I know I can't take any credit what soo ever for how the bike looks and performs, but it feels nice being told I made a good choice.
Ever since I first saw this bike published in Red Rider magazine, I knew one day I would own a 919 that would be built along the same lines. I just never thought that I would own the one I was looking at. It's still a little bit surreal. It was really cool to meet Roland and talk about the bike for a little bit. It made me appreciate the machine more after he told me all the man hours that him and his crew poured into the project. For those that think this bike was just thrown together with a few bolt on's, I'm sorry but that was'nt the case. The amount of detail and care that was taken is incredible.
Two things I can tell you is this:
1. The bike is in good hands, nobody takes care of their stuff like I do, guaranteed.
2. IF and when I ever decide to sell it, you can rest assured it's gonna have alot more than 6 miles on the clock like it did when I recieved it.

If anybody has any questions about this thing, feel free to ask. As soon as I get the suspension set up for my weight and put a new rear tire on this thing I will go hit up some real roads and post some feedback.

thanks,
Tom

not true at all.
If I could have kept my RC and also had another bike, I would be perfectly happy with a stock 9'r. Since I could only have one though, this one fit the ticket.

IF (big if here folks) I ever thought of owning a 919, the RS bike would be the one. Congrats on your new addition, many here are very envious of you right now.

Yes, I felt the way when I got that Red Rider issue in my mail box.

I've always had some sort of affection for the stock 919 when I first saw it in 2002, but I was never head over heels. Then after seeing the EMA 919 and then the RS 919, that was enough to push me over the edge. I bought a 919. I thought I was going to leave it stock. Yeah right. Knowing what could be done was a challenge, especially if there's a budget. Now after seeing the, I mean YOUR, RS 919 up close and personal it has pushed my mod bug even more. I'm setting up for that inverted fork conversion as a winter project. The 919 really doesn't need it, but damn it looks so sexy. Honda should've done it from day one.

Tom, you are one lucky SOB 9er! Again, enjoy her! I'd park her in the house!

Congrats on a damn nice bike. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun on it.
I'd ride it for a year or so, then negotiate top dollar out of RS and put the $$$ towards a similar project of my own.
Enjoy the ride, and post more pics of the mirrors, rear sets, etc.

You can't mod a 919; without owning a 919. So go get one. You know you want to.
