Asphalt Black 919's Started a Trend!

Stopped by the dealer this afternoon to check on my FJR's warranty, a couple of new bikes caught my eye. Why? Because they were flat black, a la the '02 919. New V-Strom...flat black. New 600RR...flat black.

Maybe the 919 didn't start that trend, the Ducati Monster Dark probably came first, but interesting that it's come back into fashion. Harley made a couple of flat black models as well if memory serves me right.

The ol' 9'er has never been more in style!

My wife says it looks sexy!

flat black is a great way to go.... I'm glad people are slow going away from stretched chrome swingarms and expensive paint jobs. Stuff like that makes most put their bike on a trailer and thats not how a motorcycle should be treated.

Kind of, I loved the sucker (that desmo had the most fantastic exhaust notes - still love the Ducati exhaust sound the best) but it was time to settle down shortly after I bought it. Became the wife's wedding ring. I think it was a good trade...most days.

KIDDING! Best decision I ever made.

I can relate Gopher, my wife is wearing my 84 Nighthawk 650 on her finger.
She said she'd promise to help me get another bike & now I have two.
A niner for the streets and a CR for the dirt. Can't complain!

It's Ok. Passing group of slow moving HD's always brings a smile to my face. Like today when I blew past doing 100.
