The motorcycle world sure seems to work quite different to the rest of the vehicle industry from what I can see.
I wouldn't think that you'd still find a new 2007 car still on a showroom floor at the end of 2010. From my experience, cars are usually discounted heavily by the end of their year or at the very beginning of the next.
The bike industry seems to be in a different universe only to "wake-up" by the end of the following year and then starts to discount to get rid of what is by then ancient stock (this is what I have noticed around here anyway).

Suzuki New Zealand do a Summer Fest every, well, summer ..... they tend to have several run-out or about to be discontinued models up for grabs at much reduced prices - often fitted with a pipe to sweeten the deal. Bikes are often Globally sourced by Suzuki - I had a GS1200ss that was a Japanese only model from a promo in 2004, tricked out with a titanium Yoshi 4-1 (nice).

Good buying if you are not hung up on getting last years (or the year before last ...) model and very good for Suzukis sales. I know of people each year who put off buying a new bike to wait and se what Suzuki offer.

Does stuff the used market a bit.

WOW, they still have it! I tried to buy it from them, they wouldn't come down from $7700. I bought mine in Manhattan for $6500.

I think Honda's renowned quality is largely from building bikes who's engines & drivetrains are not overstressed. Honda's engines have moderate compression, and most of their bikes don't even get reaally stressed while approaching redline.

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

I picked up my new 07 919 this past February.0 miles on the odo.
All said and done I walked out the door for 6300 with 25% off a hjc is 16. I am still excited about it. There was a used 06 with 7k on the clock and they wanted 5700 at a dealer down the road. Used for only 600 less? No thanks.

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

Speaking of Pete's in Baltimore, that's where I got my 919 about a year ago. Traded in my Suzuki M50 for it on my birthday, Dec. 2 2009. They were selling several 'new' 2007s for $6,000 plus taxes and stuff. I was so excited I rode it home in a mild snowstorm after they built it 'brand new' from a crate!

I've just put over 10,000 on it, nary a hitch. The best thing I've done so far is get Michelin Pilot Road 2s. Winter's a bitch but not that bad in Maryland. I ride every weekend if it's above 45. My wife just shakes her head "yer a maniac!"

This bike never had much of a market here - nakeds in general weren't hot sellers here but I think they're starting to pick up in popularity, from reading the motorcycle rags.

Still some of them in boxes here in the DFW area. Maxim Honda has at least one for $6990, I think they have two or three in boxes in the back: Honda 919 Maxim Honda Allen, TX (972) 359-0202

Al Lamb's Dallas Honda has an unsold red 2007 for $5999: Honda 2007 919 (CB900F)

It's funny this should come up. I just bought my 919 from craigslist. I was looking at a BRAND NEW 2007 at my local Honda dealer. They wanted $7200 for it... I DID offer them $5000 and they asked me what drugs I was smoking! LMAO... so anyway, I bought the 2007 from craigslist for $5000 and it only has 6000 miles on it.

That would be Bedford Motor Sports in Bedford, PA. It has about 1000 miles on it. I think the owner of the dealership was riding it some. I bought my 2007 there almost 3 years ago and at that time he had one left. They did some work to it and that is the one.....$6999.00
