Any former Vmax owners switch to 919?

I love the power of the vmax but the handling is "less than stellar."

Anybody want to share some thoughts about the move from vmax to 919?

Never ridden a Vmax, but off-hand I would say expect much less weight, much better handling. You're going to sacrifice quite a bit of comfort, in addition to some power and torque. The 919 should be quicker, in spite of lower hp, courtesy of a dry weight about 200 lbs. less than the big Vmax.

The Vmax is much more cruiser oriented, even if it is stupid-fast. If you're wanting something in the cruising vein, you might want to hang on to your Yammie. If you want a do-anything, quasi-sportbike, retro bike, go for the 919.

just to add to bock - the 919 is SIGNIFICANTLY more fuel-efficient, so you'll save a boatload, money-wise....

I almost bought a v-max in '97, but i couldn't get past the fugly exhaust. That bike is bad ass and I might think about it sometime in the future but right now you can't top my 9'r!
