Another shorty can thread

Wanted to start a new one because I think I have it figured out. May take a while, with an impending move my budget classifies under quantum physics. (i stole that)

But a 900rr header, just saw a stainless on ebay that I posted and this can.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SLIP-...mZ280251664502

I would wrap the exhaust anyway so I really don't need to drop the dime on the stainless, and of course sand and high temp paint the can black.
Whadda ya Think.

BTW that can is only $70 and a guy on another forum said it works real well. Even got rid of a flat spot his Leo Vince had.

Do it, I think it would be sweet!

If I had the money, I'd be all over that Borla myself!

you might wanna do some research on wrapping your headers first. I've heard it can actually melt your headers if they get too hot. i guess it should be fine on a bike tho.

last two comments were spot on. It will be loud as all hell.... and don't wrap your headers.

Unless you are full time racer with that bike, you are not gaining much more than boner points. And these days, many people don't wrap headers - the just ceramic coat them. Trapped heat can have negative cumulative effect on your headers.

I would still suggest adding a PC to that budget. That shorter can will impact your bike's performance. Especially in the Low and Mid Range.

I'll admit I just want to wrap because i like the ratty look. LOUD is fine by me.

I've got the PC coming.

Thanks for all your insights WIM. They are greatly appreciated. If I go for that stainless I wouldn't wrap though. Its pretty.

Is there a chance a smaller pipe like that would actually create more backpressure due to diameter.

Not really a whole lot of back pressure as the headers have already slimmed down to that diameter at the joint of the pipe. It does not look to be significantly smaller to where it would create noticeable restriction.
