finally ... that is what I have been waiting for a 599 with attitude, fuel injection and they actually used a 2007 model engine instead of outdated parts bin engines.

HONDA... BRING IT TO US.

I love it, inverted forks, led tailights, no gay rear fender eliminator kit needed, love the tapered swing arm, and +1 to the headers.

As soon as the 919 version is announced, I'll be putting an '05 on the market if anyone is interested...

I saw the 2007 Hornet 900 on the UK site and it came in Orange, Silver, and Black.

I expect to see at least the Orange come to the US next year.

Edit: there you go

What's the point no inverted forks, no fuel gauge, same stupid mirrors, maybe underseat exhaust with more top end to get rid of the buzz at freeway speeds, any more ideas?

If I was going 600 i would go 07 FZ6...sorry Honda.

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/09oct...yamaha_fz6.htm

And if I was going 900 I would probably go 07 Triumph Tiger

http://www.mcnews.com.au/2007_bikes/...iger/intro.htm

(But I'm not--I'm keeping the 919)

No changes to the FZ6 motor or EFI? That means the same peaky motor with no low end power at all.

I'd take the Honda or the SV650 over that anyday.

the new Hornet 1000 will also have those wheels so you're better off buying it...

besides, u get the newer CBR1krr lump from the CBF1000S and the frame will be much stiffer than the 919's...along w/ USD sticks...just wait for it, won't be much longer

The new 600 Hornet is hot! 100 hp (at the crank, I'm sure) and 381 lb. dry weight. I'd say not too shabby for a naked 600. If I weren't so addicted to the torque of my 919, I'd actually want that bike. If only they did the the whole bike in matte black...

I don't know if I like that front headlight, to much ala Gixxer and some others but BRAVO for Honda... I'm betting the US model will just have BNG when it shows up

Oh man.. that 600 Honer is sexy.. too small for my fat American a$$.. but sexy! I think I am gonna paint my niner that color. Pearl Amber Yellow. It looks like a semi-gloss or matte.. and man.. isn't that the perfect color for a bike called a Hornet?

More news - from Motorcycle Daily:

"Honda just introduced the 2007 CB600F Hornet at the Intermot Motorcycle Show, and it signals a very serious focus on the naked bike market by the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer. How? Perhaps the most telling aspect is the use of an engine derived from, and developed in parallel with, the engine powering the all-new 2007 CBR600RR sportbike -- the most advanced supersport engine ever manufactured by Honda!

As you can see from the photos, the styling is rather dramatic. The die-cast backbone aluminum frame is also entirely new, and it has attached to it a new swingarm. New, lightweight wheels contribute to an overall weight reduction of 12 pounds for the bike.

The Hornet will be available with an optional ABS braking system. Here is a link to the Honda UK site with all the details. No word yet on whether the bike will be sold in the United States next year, although it appears unlikely at this point."

It gives a torque figure of 63.5 Nm, which is actually 47 ft/lbs.

Plus, it arrives at 10,500 RPM. The 919 is all done producing its torque at the point when the 599 finally peaks. Sounds peaky to me. I'll take the plateau of the 919's power/torque curve, thank you very much

Wow! I don't know guys. You know how you have to see some bikes in person? Maybe this is one.

Except for the quarter fairing, (which means it's not a naked bike) the oversized, overweight exhaust and the tail section, I might like it.

I didn't see anything about the motor? Is it still F3?

+1 on the power issue. I won't be trading in my 9er for that.

No, it's not an F3. It's the brand new 2007 CBR600RR motor. What does that make it? The F6?

Nope, it's an R then like you said.

I guess I'd rather have the '06. The F3 motor is bomb proof even built to 100hp and I'll bet it's got more torque and horsepower than an RR motor below 10k.

honda threw everything at this bike and that includes the upgraded powerplant

Bike looks pretty nice!

Honda better WOW us with the new 919. Its going on too many years without a redesign! Why dose it take Honda twice as long to update their bikes?
