I like the shape of it but it looks too big or something.

I voted 'I like Bacon' as I do like bacon. Hmmmm bacon. I'm pretty sure I could organise a little rack to attach to the bikes headers so I could cook bacon as I ride. Now there is a useful mod!

Regarding the light - it has potential - is it presently angled correctly as I think a bit of a tilt up would help. I'd also grab some card and start cutting a template or two to fill in the sides a bit - once you have the shape you desire paint them black to see how it looks - try and compliment the tank side angles.
Looks like a good project, I'd definitely consider running with it.

Didn't vote, as I don't like either. I'm with Myztical, the new headlight is too big. Looks odd.

it's just a test fit, attached with 2 zip ties and wiring still hangs out.
I think once I tack it it a little, it wont look too big

THAT'S FUNNY, I Don't care who you are!

As for the headlight, right now I don't like it...I'll take another look in the morning and see what I think about it then. But hey, if YOU like it then go for it!

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

Your bike...so put it on if you like it. Don't listen to us! That pic you posted up looks looks sweet so if thats how it will look after you mount it then do it! If you don't like it you could always change it back, couldn't you?

do you think it looks right on that bike because it's a little busy in the engine area (belly pan, tank trim) and that takes away the attention from the headlight and makes it look smaller?

here, I tucked it in a little more. It's a test fit, not the final attachment: fender, headlight etc. Also headlight still needs to me modded a little (trimmed, painted)

I think it has potential, but right now looks like a definite after thought. Maybe some molded plastic to integrate it into the bike a little more (as Allen B said in post 3).

+1 I think if you add a flyscreen or small windscreen and mabe a little sumpthin as a headlight shroud it will look pretty good.

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

Yeah, I think thats why it blends with the other bike so well, it has lots of stuff to distract from the headlight, whereas on your bike its much more naked so naturally the attention goes to the headlight.

That's what I was thinking too - it kinda looks like a headlight that got pulled out of a fairing/windscreen so without everything else it kinda sticks out...

Kinda reminds me of that stupid beak on the Hypermotard that I hate so much... Why not do something cool like buy the dual headlights from a wrecked speed triple and mount those?

In 1915 T. Roosevelt said, in a speech to the KofC, "There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all. "

IMO, it looks too angled upward, and it then makes me think the front fender is angled upward.

It needs to be rotated downward, it reminds me of Dick Dastardly.

Than it would look like ST wannabe. I love the dual headlight on ST but don't like them on 919

As far as tilt angle goes, the headlight is just attached with two zip ties

just an opinion, as you're on here lookin for some. Looks way out of place, too big too long sticks out too far. Rest of your bike looks sweet BTW.

Another Idea is the 599 light, not as extreme but supossed to illluminate better? I don't mind the stock light output though.

it looks like some kind of transformer. thats not going to transform. It sticks out to far.I dont think it should protrude so far out over the fender.if you tilt the front of it down a little more and cram it back some it might have some potential. As for me i like the look of the dual headlights not sure weather i like them stacked or side by side.I know this for sure. Bacon rocks. It could be a surefire way to spear a deer on the way home some night .Then you to could bring home the bacon.

zaq123,
it took me this picture to be sure.
WHERE did you get that neat aluminum stand you have the bike on?
Did you fab that up ?
It really has an "aircraft" look to it, quite "trik" looking.
Nice looking roller blade style wheels on it too.

haha, good idea about 599 headlight. I scrapped the idea of gsxr light a couple of month ago and went with 599 option.

mcromo, it is HF tools stand. PofS quality, needed some modification to get it working properly

Thanks for the warning on the stand.

As for the light, it has an evil insectish look to it in my mind. I think a big round unit would really look nice, as in like the monster Bosch unit that the Laverda 1000 triple of the mid 70s had. I just happen to have one in a Bosch box in the garage, a purchase from eons ago, still destined for grafting on to one of my ancient single cammer CB750s.

Could be wrong but...

No idea on the screen, sorta looks like a f-18 deali-o

Pazzo levers

Rc-51 forks

Your bike does look fantastic, I dig the 599 conversion. (it's funcional and you use honda parts) I was considering a dual head light but canned that idea a while back if I do anything to it more than likey it'll be a 599 unit, looks sharp!

What do you have out back for suspension?

The deal with his windscreen is that it wraps his f4 gauges so nicely.
