929 or 954 engines will not swap in

Not without serious alterations anyway.
The swingarms of those two bikes bolt to the rear of the engines. That large protrusion will interfere with the 919's backbone-style frame.
The 900rr engine mounts similarly to the 919 but there'd be no significant power gain and therefore no point.
I'm working on something else and hopefully will have something to show for it in another week or two.

Sweet. Can't wait to see.

One could always remove a portion of the lower backbone to use the engine swingarm mount of the 929 or 954. Hmmmm, food for thought.

My machinist/fabricator friend always says, "The impossible takes 15 minutes longer."
I don't want to chop this one. I'll change it but it will be able to go back to original easily enough.

I read the valve sizes are the same in the two heads. The cams might be different but I've heard mixed reviews about swapping those.

The coils probably can't be done because the pickups would have to be completely different, right? Not just an ecu swap.

HID headlight? That won't make it go faster! j/k

i think there's only 1 pickup, my guess is to bypass-only the ignition controls in the 919 ECM and run the 929 ECM ignition instead-how's that for dreaming.
