919 Year Differences?

Simple question is there what are the differences between the years of the 919.

If im not mistaken the 03's were carburetor, 04+ were FI... but is there anything mechanical difference from 04+?

Reason i ask is there are a coupla 919's available near me... an 07 and an 04 both immaculate. but the 04 is priced much less.

You have been a member since Nov. of 2008. Have you ever taken the time to read the 919 Helpful Topics?
A lot of time and effort went into putting that thread together.

Not only do I use it, I contributed the 919 exhaust modification options thread.

My apologies, crazy sunday. As soon as I typed that lazy post and hit submit, I thought, "Uh oh, that one's gonna cost me."

smack-in-the-back-of-the-head dutifully accepted, MisterMike!

woot woot... i am officially a 919 owner! already planning on swappin out the stock blinkers for some smaller led ones and clean up the rear fender area (move the license plate up all the way and cut off the bottom junk). I gotta relocate the frame sliders that are on it to the actual frame, flapper mod and make up some PAIR block off plates.

Most early models are somewhat "ringers", with more attention to details.

Thus, many times, they are quicker and faster.

My 2002 919 felt a lot stronger than any of the later model versions I rode, but I have no real dyno time to prove it.

I saw a kid on a late model 919 at the drag strip, and he did whip off some impressive (for a 919) times - then I realized, he weighed at least a hundred, maybe a hundred and a half pounds less than I did.......
