919 Swingarm Swap

Anyone done one, other than bucky? his looks to be a stretched and reinforced unit...
I have a 929 unit w/ linkages and shocks that i have been doing some homework on swapping...yes, it will take machining, yes time consuming, yes welding mounts on frame... but i haven't seen anyone else do it, so i should try...
Sorry i keep suggesting the weirdest part swaps all over the forum...

30,000 mile 919 survivor. No plans of stopping the abuse any time soon.

go for it. its your bike, time and money. If it turns out well im sure more people will try. Just consider how it will change all the properties of the bike and its characteristics.

These kind of swaps are done in Europe all the time.

I've thought about it, but never too seriously. I don't have a shop or a welder, or the machining tools requred - most importantly, the knowledge to make it turn out right.
Have you figured how and where the shock linkage would connect?
I think it would look cool as hell, but a project like that is WAY beyond what I'm prepared to tackle. If there was a bolt-on option I'd consider it.
I'm interested to see what you come up with! Keep us posted.

it'd take a while before you spent Trac Dynamics kind of money, so why not?

isn't the F4i a lot easier swap to the 919? or hasn't it been done?

Here you go. . .it's been done:

. . .a photochop from totalmototrcycle.com (heh-heh)

Here's an alternative for a trick swingarm, although still not a linkage set up:

OCool did the VFR swingarm swap.

I think it was DirtySanchez aka RoyalChoppers that braced the swingarm. Could be wrong about that.

Wait, no it was in Florida wasn't it?
Damn synapse failure.
