919 Maintenance Time

Ok...well I've just put 10K of my own miles on my 9er, pushing her to about 16k miles...

So what now?

Valve check/adjustment?

New chain/sprockets?

Oil change while it's being serviced of course.

Uhh...tune up of sorts?

What am I missing here guys? I'm not super into the maintenance aspect of things (aka I don't do this type of work myself I have a licensed mechanic/friend do it) although I do know they require some dollars to keep them in good running shape...any help is appreciated.

I'm in about the same boat and almost made the same post last week. I checked my air filter and it looks clean. Time for plugs I think. Valves need an inspection. When I get home I'll scan the maintenance page from the manual and put it up.

Don't forget to check for loose bolts and nuts. It also wouldn't hurt to check your wheel and steering stem bearings.

Ya know, I'd like to do the same. But I've always thought a little preventative maintenance is better than none.

You can increase your Maintenance intervals by putting steel plates under your seat too.
