Smile 919 is coming!

Yeah! Went to the dealer a few days ago, sat down and ordered an 07' 919 from some warehouse on the mainland. I might get free gloves (what a dealer) but I'm just happy that they pushed the button to bring it over. I'm already looking at some aftermarket accessories with some restraint. Looking forward to the additional power and performance! (I was on a 650-vstar for 5 years)...Only huge shock was Progressive Insurance's phone quote of $1,954/yr vs my v-star at $221/yr....a quick call to my truck's insurance at State Farm revealed possibly cutting that quote 3x-4x smaller so a visit is definitely coming up. Helmet shopping in the meantime before the 919 arrives supposedly on the 17th of this month. I can't wait!

Congrats Serpent. You're gonna love the bike. That insurance sounds horrendous, definitely shop that around.

Have Progressive re-do the insurance quote. Many systems (GEICO) do not have the CB900F model, but they list a "919 Supersport" which this naked bike clearly is NOT.

My 919 is insured with State Farm. Approx $300 annually for full coverage.

Just did an online quote with Progressive for liability only, and they are quoting me $75.00 annually. That's cheap!

You got her so you could hang around the hive and chat up all the Horn-nutz, didn't you.

Congrats on your pending scoot.

Hey thanks everyone, I will be honored to become one with the Hive . I'll be sure to bring my camera on pick-up day. As for modding the bike, I'm gonna ride it stock for a while, but I have already drawn up a "list" of mods which might be activated come Christmas time and tax return....will there be an economic stimulus again??? Thanks for the helmet link, I've gone to the shops here and I best fit an xxl shoei rf1000, selling for 321 bucks. Gonna have to ride my cruiser hjc $50 helmet for the first few weeks I guess. Yeah the Progressive agent over the phone...I tried telling him its not a cruiser or sportbike and he said "yeah, I know, it falls under the rating of "streetbike B"". I'm 35 years old, very good credit, no accidents/claims, so I didn't understand the HUGE increase. I might get a re-quote but I like the fact that I can sit down with my state farm agent that's insuring my truck. Definitely will be back with a first ride report when I get it! Until then, time to research these threads!

I just got a quote from State farm and it was Identical to American Family. 330 a year for full coverage with 100 deductible.

XXL helmet!!! You my friend have a LARGE brain, or should I say Extra Extra Large brain... Wait, you don't have a Huge Fro that is causing you to need a bigger lid do you??? LOL...

Maybe try an online quote?

Maybe try an online quote? Make sure you pick the same coverages etc.

Congrats serpentax on getting yourself that new Honda. I was paying around 600/yr thru Progressive for my CB900F.
My best advice for you and your new ride is to be sure you look up Frame sliders and find out how you should NOT mount them on your 9er. There is a right and wrong way to bolt them up.
The wrong way will make you sad/ruin your day!!

I use Progressive, am 24 years old with one speeding ticket on my record and my rate is right at $480 per year for liability with comprehensive coverage (deer, etc.).
