919 Idle RPM

Can someone tell me what a normal idle RPM is on the 919? Mine runs around 12K, which seems, and sounds a bit fast. I don't want to mess with it if this is normal. I'm taking a 600 mile cruise next week, and want to make sure all is good. Thanks

12k sounds really really high. service manual show 1200 +/- 100

If your running at 1.2k then your good.

have a good ride.

LOL 1200rpm is just fine. 12k is above the rev limiter. LOL.

1.2k or 1200 sounds fine. I am around 1100... but 12k is above the rev limiter, and way 2 high..

I idled mine down the the point where I have to keep revving the ever-living poo out of it to keep it running. I wanted to be like the Hardley guys.

JUST KIDDING. Mine is set at about 1200 RPM.

lol... did you know the yellow knob will hold your idle at nearly 5K no load if you turn it in all the way?

30,000 mile 919 survivor. No plans of stopping the abuse any time soon.

I thought it was supposed to be 1100 RPM + or - 100. Meh, it's a Honda, and it runs.

OK, my bad. I guess the 1200 is a good number. Don't know what I was thinking. Oh wait........12K is my nuclear powered ride with the fixed wings. Thanks for understanding. And I know, 600 miles is a coffee run for most people, but I get away when I can.
