919 Grab handle plugs

I've just purchased a pair of Rizoma grab handle plugs for the 919. They came with no installation instructions and for the life of me, I can't install them. There is a mounting plate beneath the plug but can't seem to marry it up with the body work.

Can anyone please throw up an installation photo ?

These are the best pictures I have.
You have to remove the cowl to install them.
The mounting plate goes on the inside of the cowl.
Remove the two little nuts to remove and mount the plate from the inside of the cowl, but be careful not to loosen the studs. If they do come loose you can tighten them with an allen wrench.
Do not over tighten as you do not want to rick cracking the cowl.
Hope that helps some.

Thanks Gary. I suspected the cowl needed to come off. Much appreciated.

I don't know about these grab handle plugs. I find that grab handle really useful for grabbing onto, especially if I'm walking the bike backwards while still on it. I think I'll take mine off, polish the crap out of it, make it all shiney, and put it back on.

Garage
I use mine to hoist the back end up from the garage rafters, as I do not have a rear stand for a bike without spools. Makes maintenance easier.

Safeman - glad I could help.

Islandboy - I have to admit I recently put my grab handle back on as I found it helpful when putting the bike up on the centerstand.

I like the look of the bike without the grab handle it's just very handy sometimes.
