80s-90s VFR style paint job on 919

I have this picture in my head of a red white and blue 919. White rims, white or blue front fender, blue or red rear cowl, blue bellypan, and a blue and white tank with a red stripe. A combination of these two styles. I just might do it..

This topic has come up a few times recently... I say go for it! Those colors would look great on a 9er

I want to do this desperately with mine as well, albeit with gold 900rr wheels.

The 919 would sweet dressed up like an intercepter. I use to have the VF700F. I've been thinking of a similar paint scheme with powercoated white rims.

That looks great! If I did it like that I would go with a white belly pan. That would flow with the rest. That's exactly how I want the tank to look.

when I finally get a belly pan I'm gonna do red intercepter color scheme on the whole bike. We all know red is faster.

Sweet looking and very nice sound. I like the Ti as I am partial to the excellent weight savings. That's a nice color scheme. Well done and much appreciated.

Well, Bryan.............I think you are well on your way to personalizing your ride.
Any of the posted examples will be eye appealing. Now, it's a question of money and talent. My brother in law is a pro bike painter, but he is out here in Californicate.

Good fortune to you.

Velodesign/Simon is helping me out with mine. This is my vision of the VFR/Red White and Blue paint scheme brought to life by Simon and his fancy editing skills. I am sharing this with you so you guys can get some more ideas going, but I ask kindly of you to try and not duplicate this exact paint scheme. I would like the bike to be unique. Look for this to be reality by end of summer start of fall.

Stiffy provoking if I may add without insinuating a ghei side, not that there is anything wrong with that, sort of.

Not trying to provoke but I just want my vision to be just that, mine and mine alone. But Simon said he is willing to help out others if they ask him. So ask him!

That's a great look Dave. I like it. Not sold on white wheels. They look great but seems like it would require a lot of work to keep clean.

How difficult is it to keep the white rims looking clean

Idk yet but one would assume every time hour clean your bike just wash your wheels a litte bit more.
