Looks beautiful! Is it my computer, the pictures, both or neither, that make it look pink? Or, is it actually pink? Not a criticism, just curious. The next bike I have painted will be burnt orange, I think....

it is hot hues by dupont color is perplexed pink effect. she loves it, she thought she wanted a 600rr after we got done, because we could all pull away from her coming out the corners, then after we told her lots of times to just shift down, she is happy now.

Dang, man, I just got drool all over the keyboard of my expensive laptop! That color is awesome! Call me a sissy if you want, but I love that color! I'll bet if my 919 was that color and I rode down to the Tacoma waterfront and parked, all the chicks would gather 'round and want me!

Oh, sorry, I just had a few Coronas! My imagination is running wild again!

Seriously though, I love that color!

I had my KZ650 painted at a shop I used to work at (as an auto mechanic but they had a paint shop in the back part) and chose a PPG color that was ONLY put on ONE car, ever, for ONE year. It was like a late 90's buick or cadillac or something. And my coworker (the owner's brother the painter) also applied about 5 coats of pearl. My point is, everywhere I went people commented on it (it was a few shades more red than the one in the pics below).

Drool, drool...

Awesome, looks great! Unusual color, will really stand out. Painted side covers make all the difference on a 599.

very nice work. i'm thinking of taking some automotive paint and body repair classes starting this spring. it's something i've always been interested in. did you use a rattle can or a paint gun?

He's a professional and that's no rattle can job...

I use a Sata gravity feed. It's an older model, but it gets the job done. I've heard they have new models out now that have digital pressure control. I can only imagine how nice a unit like that would be.

its a side hobby that i loves doing. i am running a cheap HVLP spray gun.

works great, nice thing is when it gets messed up just throw it away. it does not take much to plug one of the little tiny holes so instead of taking hours to figure out what is wrong, just to figure out the part that is worn cost more than the gun itself just wing it start again.

Nice job with the paint. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra dough on a decent gun. Buy one used on ebay if you want to save a little. My $300 Sata Mini-jet has had near daily usage for 7 years and I've never had a problem with it. A good gun will make your clear spraying a lot easier and the results come a lot less labor intensively.

Do you mean like a paste polish? The next layer of clear sticks ok after that?

(I know nothing about painting other than that I can't).

Looks great BTW!
