599 as a dedicated track bike?

I have my old 599 that was deemed totaled by insurance but was all cosmetic plus some bent handlebars so I'm contemplating throwing some bars on it and running it as a dedicated track bike.

After seeing the 919 thread about making it a track bike and the weakest component being the frame, I was just wondering if anyone here has run a 599 on the track or even as a dedicated one and how it fared?

I don't see why not. They were a hoot on the street and become lively above 8k. Couldn't hurt for sure! Give it a whirl and report back.

The downside would likely be the availability of spare parts.
