16k check up question

I had my 919 in for my 16k maintenance today. I was told it takes 5.5 hrs to complete. I stayed cuz I wanted to see the valve adjustments while it was being performed. Needless to say they never told me when it was being done and the whole job was done in 4 hrs including new tires. I asked the service counter how could they check the valve clearances without removing the gas tank and they responded that it was marked as completed. I did notice that the "head pan" bolts were adjusted but I was still suspicious whether or not they went in and adjusted the valves. I just wanted to confer with the rest of you whether this is normal, or a case of concern to the quality of the dealership.

I always mark my bolts...I hate it when they pencil whip something as serious as valve clearances.......

AT 16k 2 cyl needed shims on mine..... Tank should come off for easy access

How do you know the tank wasn't removed? Also, I didn't think you had to remove it to check valves, just raise it.

Definitly have to raise the tank. Not remove it. Checking the clearance takes less than a 1/2 hour no problem. So they could have done it without you noticing if you were off looking at new bikes in the showroom. Last I check my valves were right at nominal with 46k miles on them. Never needed adjusted.
