I can ask someone who owns a ZX-14. I know it's been in the shop more than it's been on the road.

+1, I am very familar with its DNA owning a ZX11. It's surely amazing, but not the upright ergos I desired and don't really need 170HP...who does?

I've ridden one of the last generation Hyabusa's didn't corner for nothin' but would peel your eye sockets back in a straight line, fun to ride, glad it wasn't mine.

I had a ZX14 as a demo and LOVED it ! Comfy, fast, surprisingly good handleing despite its heft and all in all a great bike - wish I had kept it to be honest with ya -
The Busa's are a good bike as well, just not as refined feeling - they have a little bit more buzz to them, but, they handle pretty well and go like stink -

Given the choice betwix the two, Im a ZX14 fan -

That's pretty much the feed back I've been getting... Now I need to find a Demo day/dealer that'll let me take one out... So far, no one on LI will do a demo ride except BMW... Those boys'll give you every single bike they have to demo, all you need is a MC licence and 21 to ride the 1300's.

How'd you get the demo?

I signed the pay checks !

How soon are you looking to buy something ? I know that Kawasaki will have thier demo fleet down @ Biketoberfest - Susuzki, well ,I dont think they take the Busa's out for demo's, seems they have a habit of falling down -

Maybe spring. I want to be as informed as possible though. Really depends on how fast i get the 9er paid off. Do you own a dealrship? I'd be willing to travel!

Now that you mention it, Suzuki just laughed when I asked about demos... The Kawi guy said they didn't have the insurence to do demo's with new bikes, but if a used one came in, they would contact me.

i have a hunch if you walked in with a checkbook in one hand and your helmet in the other and said "All that's left to do before I decide is ride one" you might just get a chance.
I bought my zx11 over the phone, sight unseen, having never even seen one. It was a great bike. Hondas have nicer fit & finish though.

hate to burst your Bubble, but you better pick up the latest issue of sportrider. Mine arrived today and they do a Busa k1300 shootout and put the Beemer on top--Especially for its superior handling.

One of my employees has a ZX14 and loves it. All the squids around here ride busas with stretched rear ends, chrome and custom paint, that's enough to rule one out for me.

Your not bursting his bubble, your just edumacating him.
Takes after his 'ol man and checks out stuff for a month of Sundays before jumping in.....a lot to be said for DNA.

I knew off the bat that the BMW would romp the Busa/ZX14 in the turns, they claim straight line it dominates too... with a seasoned sport rider on it... I followed that BMW through some nice roads and the only time I could catch up was on the turns... on my 919. Once the road staightened out, the BMW took off like I was going backwards!

Once FXS gets use to the bike, I'm chit out a luck!
