RC-51 demise

Did I miss the thread discussing the drop of the RC-51 by Honda for 2008?

I'm never selling mine. Lots of fun, costs nothing to own, doesn't take up much room.

Happy owner.

Honda stopped making them in 2006.

I still have mine but its a racebike and for sale. If it doesn't sell, I may kit the hell out of it with HRC parts and Carbon goodies and just use it for the occasional track day. It will be my "forever" project since HRC parts will not be easy or cheap to come by.

I'll be looking for one as a track bike soon, I've seen some steals on eBay, under-appreciated for sure.

Amen brother. It was my first brand new motorcycle. When I bought it, it was worth more than everything else I owned, combined!

I don't feel bad about getting rid of mine, but I do miss it.

BARROSART, Evad is selling his here in Seattle:
http://www.wmrra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5531

I want it, but I can't afford or have room for another bike.

I want to do as many track days as possible this year and then race again in 2009. When are you going out? Maybe you can show me which way the track goes.

Not me... I still remember that second weekend I took my 1000RR to Barber (the first time it rained the whole time). My laps times dropped by 4 seconds off the times I was doing with my very well sorted RC51 and have still been improving ever since.

I realized then that some bikes just suit some riding styles better and haven't looked back since.

Probably my best day ever at a racetrack. Everything was just perfect. Mild temps, overcast with no sun glare & the track was grippy as all hell.

Not so much the ride, but the bike itself. More because I built it. I really only like(d) mine. It was part of me in a way. It was the first true race bike I built. Built her from the ground up.

Performance wise I am with you, my CBR1k kills it, but it lacks the personality of my 51.

It's actually high definition amber (orange) adds contrast to overcast conditions.
