R1 - Baffle Kit

To anyone that has a R1, I highly recommend installing this!

http://www.aandrmotorsport.com/yamah...affle-kit.html

I installed this on my '06 R1 this past weekend and the bike sounds amazing! It's louder obviously but now has this deep throaty sound, plus it looks great too.

disregard. I see the price now. $90.

they need a better website admin who doesn't place white text on a white background.

I love how the OEM exhausts fit the R1, the shape of it fits so well with the tail. I've looked at all the after market exhausts and none look as good and the ones that do look "ok" are so expensive.

This mod was CHEAP and gave the bike a little more power, better sound and looks better.

yeah that's one of my fav features about it and on the zx10, you get the "sleeper" look and they sound great

Now that I understand the cost, I must say excellent. However I do not believe the gain claims one bit. Now, if Sporty comes back and says that judging by her seat-of-the-pants estimate, the power figures are correct, I'll believe whatever her butt says.

i'd be surprised to see that much torque, but look at it this way, it's just like putting on slip-ons... it completely opens up the baffling like aftermarket pipes do. one guy i sold an R1 to did this and he said it was a pretty noticeable gain

agree on the butt dyno from sc, waiting to hear from 'smart-azz' :and it'll be a minor improvement to the look on the backend of that r1 which i would have bet money wasn't possible

Yes my 'butt' does in fact look better but I don't think it's really any faster.

I'll have to get it dyno'd again and if it breaks 150, then it did add something.

I took it to work today and it is much louder. One of the guys I work with rides as well and wanted to hear the bike. Started it up for him and gave it a little rev, not too much as the bike is parked right beside the building. Well didn't matter as I had one of our directors come up to later on that day and tell me that I vibrated everything in his office.........

So, how did you handle that comment.

Actually the director and I are really good friends, he's a XBOX gamer so we get along really great. I can sit in his office and not worry about shooting my mouth off and dropping the f-bomb. He comes by my desk every so often just to say hi and tell me about the latest game he's playing on his xbox.
