CBR question

My buddy just agreed on a deal to buy a bike.

Its a 1999 CBR600 F4 with 20,005 miles for $2600.

Here are the pictures, the frame is straight but there are scratches on the frame on the right side. The pictures are not good but you can see it a little bit. How big of a problem is this? I mean it doesnt affect the structural integrity right?

That pipe is SO SO SO loud! Oh my goodness!!!

That was as low as he would go, $2600 for a mechanically sound bike isnt bad. It was listed at $2900. You would love the sound brian, its ridiculous. Mom said "tell him he cant come to my house after dark, the neighbors already hate us because of your stupid loud bike."

tell him to go for it and wear ear plugs. that is a straight pipe. I believe the tip is one they sell on ebay for like $40 that just clamps onto the end to the end off the headers to give it a finished look and directionality.

CBR's are great bikes. I've had 2 ... Get some ebay plastic's on it and enjoy the bike. It won't let you down.

My 94 had 36k on the clock when I sold it years ago and it was just fine.

As far as that pipe is concerned I can only imagine how loud it is...and it's fugly too That would have to come off if you ask me but 2600 is a good price. He'll enjoy it

Haha I have already told him the beat down is coming. With my debaffled pipes and the K&N i am in front of Dans F4i to 130 now. And off the start it isnt even anywhere close. So I am sure the F4 isnt going to stand a chance. What I love about the 919 in comparison with the CBR though is the available power. you have to search for the powerband on the CBR the 919 has it right there all the time.

haha definitely! I have no doubt his bike is faster in someways, i mean it will do a higher top end than ours. But who needs 153mph on the street? I would rather have the power down low and torque.

I agree. Lets not have another 919 vs 600s thread again. I am tired of people telling what papers say. It all comes down to the rider in the low end.
