Am I the only 929?

I have a hard time fitting in here. It seems, if you don't own a 9-1-9, you are an outsider. I don't fit into the heavy weights, 929 doesn't ride like one and it's not quite a liter bike. And, it doesn't fit in with the light wieghts. Its too strong to be in the 600 class. And finally it doesn't fit in with the 750s though it stands next to GXR750 the best. So, guys, where do you recomend I reside? I am mainly looking to talk to other 929 peeps. This is a new bike for me and I have questions that may be specific to 929s. Are there any 929s here in northern Colorado? Looking forard to your advice. And where should I post if I have a 929 question?

post here... and don't ever feel like a outsider... most of us have had or do have more than one bike... and the knowledge base here is second to none on the internet...

we accept everyone no matter what they ride.... hell there are even a couple of harleys owners here ...

Everyone is welcome here. Despite the abundance of 919's the commonality between us is the fact that we all love to ride. I for one would love to see a better mix of bikes and have you stick around here, but until you give it a fair shake and some time to get to know some of us it always feels like your the odd man out.

If I knew anything about the 929 I'd really love to chime in, and I think that is what keeps others from posting? No one wants to look the fool for giving the wrong answer.

Love the 929. Had one from 2000 til 2003. Did everything well, and it had the best trunk of any sport bike, I could fit 2 bottles of Mt. Dew in there.

If I could find a cherry yellow/black 2000 model I would own one again. That would be my new touring bike. The only flaw I ever found was the lack of ground clearance with stock suspension on the track. You can easily grind the left engine case cover, but that is just nit picking.

After many years and many dreams I have realized my goal of riding in all 50 states!

Now the rest of the world!

Every now and then go away and have a little relaxation. To remain constantly at work will diminish your judgment. --Leonardo Da Vinci

Everyone is welcome Jim ... We need more "non" 919'ers here anyway ... They think they are taking over the world

Heres the best solution I came up with...

Give me your 929 to park next to my 919 in the garage, then go buy yourself a 919 so that you can fit in better with us.

I agree with the sentiment I'd like to see more and different bikes and opinions. I'm new but would love to see more diversity as it seems some of the members here are a bit Jaded from the overabundance of niners. Post and be welcome!

Plenty of different bikes here, and a few other 929 owners if I'm not mistaken.

Dude a lot of RR riders are on Fireblades.org. It is a HUGE website of CBR900RR/929RR/954RR etc enthusiasts and owners. Any questions you have about the 929 have been asked and answered and a search of that site will be good for your 929 specific Q's

That being said I am a former 929 owner who now owns a coupla older RR's but prefers to ride on big touring bikes and dirt bikes (as of late...I go thru phases....) I hang here because it's a nice cross section of bikers of all types, mostly road warriors, with a smattering (OK, abundance) of 919 guys.

This place rocks. It's got it all and is more intimate than most forums. Come on in, the water's fine.

BTW I respectfully disagree....a 929 is in fact a liter bike, a rip-snorting one at that...........I miss mine now.

Http://www.fireblades.org is where you want to be for the definitive 'Blade related info

WT is fine for general riding, fireworks, home improvements, bashing the Administration from the Right or the Left depending on the day of the week.

Many here have owned the beloved 929.
Me, one of my greatest regrets is not purchasing a certain yellow and black 929 that was owned by one of the Blade community's greatest contributors. R.I.P.

So hang here, enjoy the show, it's free and there are dancing girls that saunter around the ring between rounds. Fire any kind/type of biking related question you may have and you'll likely be pointed in the right direction.

But if it's thousands of your own kind you seek, Fireblades.org is what you seek.

Be forewarned though, ever since FBlades.org went commercial, there's a different, hmmmm, tenor to the place. Not quite the same as it used to be.

If you make it over there, Sheep of Blue will steer you true.

-rd out

We are all the same people looking at all of the forums, so whether you post in the general streetbike thread or heavyweight or naked etc. it will be seen. I would just say if it relates to your 929 in general then post in the general streetbike thread. Nobody here gets bent out of shape if you should post in the wrong spot. Stick around though, there is a wealth of knowledge on this forum not to mention great people too!

Jim, sent you a text a bit ago about getting together for a ride. This place houses all kinds, it is the only place with low enough standards to let 919 riders in though, thats why there are so many. Just Kidding guys!!

Seriously, here whatever you ride is cool, and the diversity is fun, you can learn about all different kinds of rides. I currently have the VFR, and a HD FXR, but I have had a 919, and a 954 since I've joined here. Fireblades.org is a good place for info on the CBR's but this place is a better hangout IMO. Hope to meet up with you Sunday, if that doesnt work how bout Monday?

23 posted replies in 3 hours and 18 min!!

Wow! 23 posts in 3 hours and 18 min. I am dumfounded. Thanks Guys

I am kinda new to this forum thing, but if this is an indication of the support this site offers, I'll stay and... Well if ya can't beat um... i'll sell the 929 and get a 9-1-9. A-Hahahaha just kidding.

I want to thank All of you for the replies. I will check out the fireblade site for anything I can't get here. I have a feeling I wont need it.

omaha_919 thanks for the hook-up to this site and the PM

I'll talk 929s with you. I've had mine since it was new in Dec of 01.

Suspention has been redone. Ohlins in the back. Erion can, PowerCommander, HeliBars, that's about it. Nearing the 40,000 mark.

So fast and smooth, it's very hard not to go double the speed limit.
