2008 CBR1000R burning oil

I have been doing some research for cousin who owns a 2008 CBR1000R and lives overseas. Seems that he has 7 friends that have had this problem. I also searched on CBR1000R forums and looks like several people are having the same problem. Honda does not acknowledge the problem. So….my question is, does anybody heard about this or have any info?
Thanks
Weber

Yes the problem exists, Yes I have plenty of info, but it doesn't matter as there is nothing anyone can do to fix the problem as once the damage is done it never gets any better. The best they can hope for is to get a new motor from Honda.

Anyone that buys an 08 1000RR needs to have the clutch recall work done immediately if it hasn't already been done!

The 09's have already been fixed for the potential problems.

What are you saying, Honda is aware of the problem but will do nothing to rectify it?

His bike is not burning yet (less than 2K miles), but there is anything to avoid it?...or just luck of the draw

Like I already said... If he hasn't done the clutch recall yet get it done ASAP and don't ride the bike any more until it that clutch recall is completed.
